Latest reviews of Lingopal Danish - talking phrasebook app for iPhone and iPad

Terrific app, well worth it
This is an information packed and delightful app for Danish phrases. You get a lot for $.99, including words and phrases for traveling, dining, directions, accommodations, shopping, making conversation, business talk, flirting, and emergencies. Plus, there are some mild & x-rated insult phrases and some cheeky gay translations. The audio pronunciation is quite clear, although I wish there was a volume contract (its a little loud).
Good but...
A lovely app, easy to use and plenty of content for just 99c. However, far too much of that content is wasted on the endless flirting phrases which must account for around a THIRD of all the material here.
Great Value
Tons of different words and phrases and you really cant beat the price. My only conerns are that some key words (such as foods) arent covered and that the voice quality isnt great. The audio quality is a bit scratchy and theres no option to slow it down, so its not good if youre actually trying to learn the language and practice your pronunciation. Still, for how cheap it is this is a very worthwhile app and Im more than happy with my purchase. Try the free versions (currently Italian, Korean, Swedish) to get a feel before buying, but keep in mind that the danish apps audio quality is lower than for those!
No sound
I downloaded this app only to find out that it wont play the audio. This is bad because the Danish alphabet is unique so without the audio I wont be able to say a thing.
All the basics, plus a sense of humor
Downloaded this for a week in Copenhagen after discovering that NONE of the 3 guide apps I bought had basic phrases. This helped us several times: figuring out what our # would sound like when called in line at the cafe and post office, learning basic polite phrases, and for entertainment on a train ride when we discovered the hilarious pick-up lines sections and had a laugh reading them all. Danish sounds nothing like it looks, so we were grateful for the audio. Didnt have any sound quality probs reported by other reviewers. Only complaint: the translation for "excuse me," a key daily phrase, was overly complicated and formal. A Danish friend gave us a MUCH easier and more common word for it.
